Deadbeats' Hall of Lame
AMC Direct Edition
Do not sign me up for any mail lists. Studio42 does not accept such unsolicited business. Also, since I've recently been getting a flood of such e-mail from various people and organizations I don't wish to deal with, their names will end up here, along with their home and business addresses, and phone numbers, whenever possible.
Please realize that 99.9% of internet users DON'T want your crap in our e-mail boxes.
Minimum fine for violation of this policy allows me to legally bill/invoice for $500 and this can be escalated to a court of law.
Last Modified: September 21, 1998 because AMC Direct lies and is caught AGAIN.
And now, without further ado, Studio42 presents the:
Internet Deadbeats' HALL OF LAME
AMC Direct Edition
AMC Direct
This report is being handled very differently and for a very good reason. As such, this
will count a SINGLE spam for today only, despite this starting on December 26, 1997. A
very complete record of our exchanges follows.
I received a MAILER in the mail for AMC Direct. They were advertising that if I stopped
by their web site, I could get a free blank CD. Hey, I am in the market for a CD-burner,
but I also have some immediate need for blank CD-R's anyways, so what the heck.
I swing by their web sit, fill out their form, and when I submit it, I get an error because
they don't have things configured properly. They still managed to get my information.
A few days later, I got the CD-R in the mail. The CD-R failed due to HARD errors in the
cobalt-oxide layer on the disc. As luck would have it, I recieved this in my PERSONAL
email address on my domain a few days later:

To which I responded:

To which they responded back:
See their response to my response.
And so I responded:

Confused yet? You will be...
This next one gets the typical spam work-up due to AMC Direct's inability to remove me from
their distribution list.

Plus, having my own domain lets me involve MYSELF as postmaster:

UPDATE: January 9, 1998
Patrick Davis has responded. It doesn't appear he is going to remove me from his
distribution list, he just wants to try and apologize. Unfortunately, actions
speak louder than words.
See his response to Postmaster.
Feeling witty, he goes ahead and responds again, issuing the typical spammer insult, which
indicates this person has MORE free time on their hands than I do.
See his OTHER response to Postmaster.
To which I responded via Postmaster:
See my Postmaster reponse.
Still feeling witty, Patrick Davis also responds to the account he spammed, in
typical spammer fashion:
See his response to my personal account.
To which I responded:
See my reposnse.
And that's all he word processed.
Clueless continues.
